Cooper Ross
I started playing hockey when I was three years old and ever since I haven't been able to stop. It seems as if my whole life revolves around it. I have been playing AAA hockey for the Clarington Toros since I was eligible in novice and this year, I was named captain which is a huge deal for me. Winter hockey is always fun, but nothing compares to the level of competition during summer hockey. My greatest accomplishments are with my best friends in PHD Team Ontario and the Best of Best Series Team East. The difference between AAA and elete is insane. My rival team's best players are put on one super all star team together and we go up against all the other amazing talents across North America. It’s really fun playing against my best friends who I met through summer hockey and when it's my job to shut them down, I can always think that they will be scoring with me in a few months rather than against me. I have made the Pro Hockey Brick team but due to unfortunate timing with covid the Brick didn't really happen. I got to play a few games with the Toronto kids but it wasn’t nearly as fun as playing with my boys back in PHD. I look forward to continuing to develop and have fun for years to come!!!!
Lauchlan Whelan
Lauchlan is currently with Quinte Red Devils and has been the assistant captain from novice to pewee and is considered one of the fastest forwards of the ETA 2010 players. During game play Lauchlan is an enforcer and has high hockey intelligence. He has played for PHD since their inaugural year and been a part of the teams success in the Windy City Tournament in Chicago where they battled Team Chicago for the win. Lauchlan is a valuable member of any team he plays for and looks forward to defending the Best of Best title from last year.
Kyler Lauder
Kyler has been fortunate to have had many hockey highlights, both with the Central Ontario Wolves and PHD Team Ontario. He says some of his favourite moments include a 4th OT period 1v1 game winning goal, PHD champs in the Windy City Brick Tournament and a few MVP’s along the way. Kyler stands out on the ice with his speed and strong work ethic. His determination paid off this year as he ranked top 10 in the league for points and top 5 for goals. Kyler looks forward to seeing his PHD buddies on opposing teams at regular season games and has especially loved getting back on the ice with them to battle as teammates every summer for the last 3 years. He is very thankful to Josh for being an inspirational coach and mentor, who’s influenced him to be an awesome teammate, player and person. This year he’s excited to be joining PHD again, as well as training as an A.P. player for the Best of the Best and super excited to be playing in California with them!

Gavin's individual highlights include back to back 50 goals seasons and League scoring titles in the ETA OMHA. With PHD, his favourite on ice memory was winning Gold at the Brick Series, Battle of the Windy City and scoring in OT in the Semi Finals Vs. Boston Brick. The most important thing for Gavin is the friendships made with the Toros, PHD and Team East families! This has allowed JL this season to become a leader at his level and looks to become an elite forward. He was also used as a defensemen in all situations over the year. he attributes his development in large part to Josh and the PHD group of trainers which he has trained with for multiple years. Tanner Gibson
Tanner began his hockey experience in 2018 playing in the Oshawa church league as a forward. The team did not have a regular goalie so they rotated each player. Tanner discovered that he liked being a goalie more than a forward. Based on his goalkeeping skills and results it was suggested he try out for the Oshawa Generals team. Surprisingly he made the AAA team and his success has skyrocketed ever since. During that year he was spotted by Josh Ross and was invited to try out for Josh’s PHD summer league team. As the teams only goalie he played a lot of games and gained a great deal of experience playing with and against the best players of his age group. Tanner then tried out and made the Best of Best Team East and the team reached the pinnacle of success by winning the 1st Best of Best tournament. This past year on the Oshawa Generals AAA team, Tanner has 4W 7T and 10L. Tanner‘s GAA was 2.38 and his save percentage was .9346 while facing over 750 shots. PHD has afforded Tanner a great platform for improvement, self-confidence and enjoyment. He has made many new friends/ teammates through his experience. PHD has allowed Tanner the opportunity to live his dream, his passion; playing hockey.
Cohen O'Neill
Cohen began playing hockey as a forward at the age of six years old until one day he played in net and a coach quickly recognized he might have a "knack" for goaltending. It turns out he did and he has never looked back since that time where he remains playing in net for The Whitby Wildcats Minor Peewee AAA team. Throughout this time Cohen was selected to play for the 2010 Toronto Bulldogs Brick Team and has the opportunity to play in a wide variety of elite tournaments throughout Ontario, Quebec and the United States. Cohen is also honored to be playing in the Hockey Hall of Fame Future Legends Tournament this Spring in Toronto. He has loved his time being a part of the PHD program where he has had the opportunity to meet new friends, to play with highly skilled players and be developed by amazing coaches. The "Best of the Best" Tournament was one of the highlights of his summer where he was proud to represent Team East. Cohen was beyond excited to be selected as part of the All Series Team and he also won the Goalie Skills Breakaway competition. Memories were made that summer that will never be forgotten. He is a very determined kid and a hard worker who loves the excitement and challenge of the big games and cannot wait to represent Team East again this summer in the BOB Tournament and battle for a repeat Championship win!
